A native of West Michigan, Anna Raphael opened Laketown Healing Arts in 2008 with a vision to create a safe haven for health and wellbeing within a calm and nurturing environment.

After completing massage training in Lansing in 2002, she went on to receive neuromuscular training from Timberlake Massage Therapies of Ohio, and has been offering therapeutic massage in the state of Michigan for nearly ten years. As a neuromuscular therapist she has the ability to help you simply relax, or address specific areas of injury or trauma. She is trained in a number of modalities, including:

Deep-tissue and relaxation

Trigger-point therapy

Myofascial release

Post-isometric muscle release

Cranial-sacral therapy

In 2009 she continued her education by entering a 200 hour yoga teacher training program through Prairie Yoga Teacher Training of Illinois, fulfilling a personal journey to pursue the complementary effects of therapeutic massage and yoga. She teaches yoga with the goal to help all people - regardless of age, shape, or size - rediscover their connection with their body, unlocking the healing powers within.

Anna supports the belief that all trauma - be it physical or emotional - can become “stuck” within our neuromuscular model, causing pain and dysfunctional holding patterns.  Through applied pressure, stretching, and relaxation these patterns can be released, providing a balanced state of health and improved mobility of the body.

She is a certified member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP), a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist, and a certified yoga instructor.
